Germanischer Lloyd

One of the first projects to be built at Brooktorkai in Hamburg's HafenCity was the company headquarters of Germanischer Lloyd - now GL SE. The special feature of the project was that the basement was founded on a harbor basin in order to provide flood protection at the same time.

The project development consists of three building complexes which were built almost simultaneously by three general contractors. The building complex captivates by its open office structure as well as the generous catering and fitness area. The option areas of Germanischer Lloyd were leased by external partners and managed by WBRE. The building complex includes a residential tower, for which the challenges of noise control in HafenCity were given special consideration.
