Redevelopment of the listed buildings on the former freight station in Berlin Grunewald in the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, a historic site with extensive green areas and a small stock of trees.
Formerly used by Deutsche Bahn exclusively for the handling of freight traffic, the very extensive area has no buildings or old infrastructure except for the rail facilities and remains of former station buildings. The site lies within the sphere of influence of the largest Berlin infrastructure project of the next few years - transformation of the Autobahndreieck / Funkturm. Due to its size and attractive location between City West and the recreational areas in the west of Berlin, the area receives a lot of attention both from the district politics and from the Berlin Senate.
The renovated, listed buildings are to be integrated into the project of a new use in a meaningful way. This also applies to the Gleis 17 memorial in the south of the station area in memory of Jewish citizens deported from here.
Further development is not yet planned.
