In a prominent location in Hamburg’s Harvestehude district, between Mittelweg and Harvestehuder Weg on the Alster, Sophienterrassen is one of Hamburg’s most sophisticated urban neighbourhoods. The overall project is divided into five building plots with high-quality residential and office use as well as the revitalisation of an existing listed building.
A total of around 7,000 m² of commercial space and 148 residential units in the high-end segment were created on plots 1 to 4. The individual building plots are connected by a communal neighbourhood car park. Plot 4 – the campus on Mittelweg – was realised as an office building, while the other plots comprise exclusive residential buildings.
Construction site 5 comprised the revitalisation and extension of the historic, listed former site commandant’s office. The ensemble of buildings, which was used for military purposes for decades, was given a contemporary appearance through careful refurbishment, modern additions and a new use and now contributes to the high-quality residential quality of the neighbourhood. Waterbound Real Estate GmbH was responsible for project management and construction supervision on several construction sites as part of the project. In this context, it was responsible for managing the planning and construction process, the overarching coordination of different planning teams in the construction areas, the overall budgeting, the awarding of construction contracts and the structural handover to the purchasers.
Sophienterrassen is a neighbourhood that meets the high architectural and urban planning requirements of this traditional location and at the same time combines modern living and working environments in one of Hamburg’s most sought-after locations.
