In 2023, J&T REAL ESTATE – one of the leading and most renowned real estate developers in Slovakia – acquired the last major development site in Europacity Berlin. For the realization of this forward-looking project, WBRE was entrusted with project management. In close collaboration with the international architecture firm gmp, a comprehensive redesign is being implemented for the mixed-use development, featuring high-quality apartments, modern office spaces, and versatile retail units.

The architectural language of the Nordhafen ensemble thrives on contrasts: compact structures meet generous open spaces, clear lines meet playful details. Particularly characteristic are the striking loggias and balconies, conceived as private retreats. Through targeted lighting design, developed in cooperation with the renowned studio Lichtvision, they are atmospherically staged in the evening hours.

Nordhafen represents a new generation of building – ecologically conscious, flexibly designed, and consistently sustainable. Low-emission materials, energy-efficient building technology, adaptability for deconstruction, and optimized life-cycle costs are central components. This forward-looking approach combines ecological responsibility with economic foresight. The office spaces are delivered in shell-and-core standard, providing future tenants with maximum flexibility for individual fit-out.

With construction starting in September 2024, WBRE additionally took on responsibility for construction management to ensure the success of this landmark project.

J&T REAL ESTATE is known for its outstanding developments, including the riverside district Eurovea City with Slovakia’s first skyscraper and the Panorama Towers. Internationally, the company continues to set benchmarks with prestigious projects in London and a winery in France designed by Foster + Partners.
