Awarding procedure:

The building, which was constructed in 1959, was completely gutted, two storeys were added and the architecture was restructured. All building components – including the façade and roof – were renovated both technically and in terms of design. The original gable front was removed in order to open up the view of the tower of St Nicholas’ Church and to achieve an urban enhancement.

Waterbound Real Estate GmbH was responsible for the strategic planning and management of the entire development process. The construction work was awarded to a general contractor. WBRE also conducted the lease negotiations with the future users and the subsequent sale of the property.

The architectural realisation was carried out by prasch buken partner architekten bda, who developed a modern design that blends harmoniously into the historical surroundings.

The Nikolaikontor stands for careful integration into the traditional cityscape and modern working environments and is now an attractive location in the heart of Hamburg
